Not everything you read in the Pokedex is entirely accurate, but the entries on the legendaries are usually NOT exaggerated!
Kirlia thinks for a bit, and taps the purple orb again. The Unown shift, swapping back to runic form, then into Roman letters once again. This time, the message is different.
"The Pokemon of Sentiments have paths to follow
The spirit cannot free itself to flee, to breach the wall of its power
Unless it be convinced by unselfish love."
"Two paths appear before the child
Future or present, thither or now
Earth or sky."
"The choice belongs to one
Neither boy nor man
Who will never again be alone."
No response from Mesprit...there probably isn't any reason to be worried, then...Nathan hugs Kirlia and lets out a sigh of relief...it'd be okay...he...had to keep believing that...he smiles back at Kirlia, though he's still slightly worried for his friend...three days...hopefully there weren't any signs of emotion draining in that time...
When Kirlia taps the gem again after that's done, Nathan is rather glad he wrote the prior set of messages down. And then he quickly writes down the next set in his journal as well before analyzing it...
"The pokemon of sentiments have paths to follow...that sounds like the plural usage of pokemon...Mesprit is the being of emotion, so the other pokemon it's talking about is probably..."
He turns to look at Kirlia. "...the only pokemon that embodies the same thing as Mesprit, right? So that means...you're the key to freeing Mesprit, Kirlia...what's it mean by 'unselfish love,' though...? This text seems to suggest it could occur either now or later...but what does it want me to do? What choice is it suggesting I have...?"
Unfortunately, Nathan still isn't entirely sure what this all means...the meaning of 'unselfish love' is a little lost on him (not me, though) at this point...maybe he'll figure it out later, given enough time...
After one last look around the room (any strange designs or dry patches in the floor that might be notable?), Nathan turns to Kirlia. "Well, unless you can think of anything else to try, I think we'll just have to come back later, when we're ready for Mesprit's help...are you ready to go, Kirlia?"
If Kirlia's ready to leave for now, it's probably time to rejoin Absol and have a little chat with him...
