During a sparring match, you could definitely still use the moves Strike (does a small amount of nonlethal damage) or Knockback (applies a -1 penalty to accuracy rolls until they get up) or Grapple (Blocks the target, and also causes a Strength vs Strength roll for dominance).
Axew will use his own stats.
Axew Round 1
Heart decides to let Axew fight first since he want to demonstrate his strengh to the Pokemon. Arial decides in the right moment Axew attack, he will Grapple, and fight a battle of Strengh vs Strengh. He may loose, but he still going to do that. Then decides to use Strike two times to give some good damage against Koa.
