Unbeknowest to Nathan (Perhaps), Ventus was just as intently scrutinizing over their mental state as well, using almost his complete and undivided attention on making sure that the boy's self induced apathy and the bizaare dual emotional conflict were not undermining his mental intergrety.

This is a Heart Swap battle, not a life or death Struggle my friend!" he said, trying to point out and simultaneously lighten the already buzzing tension that lay between them and Nate. Maybe a couple of terrible puns would help Freeze over his Confusion...

Kirlia knows for sure.  He only informs Nathan of Ventus's worry, though...for now.

"Grid's not like my other pokemon, if you've not noticed, and he had to let off some static charge anyways.  Plus, I'd say the Paralysis was more than called for considering just how much damage that Facade could have dealt.  Or how much damage Starmie could have taken from Helping Hand boosted Absorbs.  I wasn't actively trying to remove two pokemon from the fight in one round, just so you know.  Looks like I might have to up the ante just a tad."

Nathan doesn't react to the puns since he's currently apathetic.
