Nathan is a little shy around most people, yes, but most of the issue here is that Heart's been observing battles that Nathan feels weren't the business of any outsiders.

In better circumstances, Nathan would have let it slide for the most part.  Nathan's very unstable right now, though.  VERY unstable.  Cheering for Nathan or not, the cheer is mostly for his opponents, which certainly doesn't help.

It also doesn't help that the last time a stranger 'joined' the group, he ended up getting the entire group (except Nathan) in trouble with the Rangers.  And he also ran off with a Pinsirite he should have turned in to the authorities soon afterwards, and hasn't been seen since.
