I feel like Ventus would have gone quite mad if that Mega Horn from Bouffalant would have hit and inflicted lethal damage on his draconic bat.

He got mad and killed it anyways...

Unlike Nathan, he has absolutely zero qualms with killing Pokémon when it suits his fancy, and their is ample president for Ventus reacting negatively when he think his friend's/family's life have been threatened by another person/being. For him, it doesn't matter whether or not the Lethal Blow landed, but that fact that the enemy used the move against him in the first place. Intent is just as important as causation and effect for my character, and their are very few circumstance where he lets something like THAT happen and spares a wild 'mon.
