I was actually considering having Nathan throw in a little bit about Cynthia in that last passing remark.  He considers her a role model (not surprising, right?), and one of the things she mentions a lot is her love for pokemon and belief that all people and pokemon serve a purpose in the world.  (Interestingly enough, she used to believe the exact opposite according the anime, being more like Paul in her younger days, only really desiring to win with the strongest possible pokemon she could gather)

Ultimately, I decided against that since the meaning would have probably been lost on Ventus for the time being :/

Yeah, it would be lost since my character is clueless about her status and the finer details of her ideals. Even if he knew that, though, he would still stand by his beliefs. They served him well thus far, and are powerful in their own right; he just doesn't know how to balance them out against others yet.

You managed to do something one step worse, mate: you legitimately pissed my character off with that remark. Ventus hates the concept of heroism, since its the one thing he never could achieve, despite everything he tried to do. He's quite bitter about that.
