Quite frankly, my current plan is try to get things to the point where Nathan can at least show Shiva the dog means zero harm to her (Starmie and Calam being the safety nets in all likelihood, even though Nathan has no reason to distrust Orthros at this point. I'm also hoping that Nathan's very, very honest appreciation has helped get a little closer to that...), and then trying to integrate him into everyday stuff so everyone can get used to him being around. Nathan as a 'pack leader' is certainly very different from a Mega-Houndoom that's feasting on negative energy.
Maybe a demonstration of his obedience in the Little Cup would help as well?
