@PhantomUnderYourDesk: Ven's too focused on his battle with Flareon to spare his attention, but he'll be receptive towards the mythical doggy after the battle, so don't recall him immediantly! Seeing them might actually soften them up towards Orthros, since if this Fae Dog isn't acting so aggressively/sinister, maybe the demon dog will not?
