And much people don't like emerald, Saphire and Ruby, but It was there was created one the mostly important things in the breed: Ivs and Natures. That was a incentive to the use of breed strong Pokémon and the new competitive begun.
I'm not going to say any one gen is better or more popular than the others. They all have their pros and cons. But I do have a bit of a soft spot for Gens 3 and 4 myself, since I started with Emerald and Platinum.
Fav Gens are Gen 5 and Gen 3 are my favs, due to the innovation they brought to the series have long lasting impacts, such as HAs, Breeding techniques, Natures and just plain abilities. The Battle Frontiers were also a blast to compete in, if I do say so myself!
I am also fond of Gen 7 myself, as its quite the different take on the series usual tradition of Gym Challenges, Evil Gang, and then League/Post League. After that, I like the Mystery Dungeon series the best , and then Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness. Wish I had the GBA adapter to my Gamecube so that I could link up Emerald to it....
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.
