[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins

Now, I was wondering that if I get Kingdra, what ability should I choose for it if I had an option? I know that with Focus Energy, Sniper Crits are just going to be the bees knees when blasting down opponents with moves of any kind, but with Swift Swim I could have Shiva tutor it Rain Dance and basically give it + 2 DEX and Double STAB on all its Water type attacks after just one move, and it combos with Dragon Dance as well for + 3 DEX and + 1 STR/Water Boost. That, and if Kingdra ever gets over being touch sensitive, it could also help aid in underwater exploration or diving. Hmm....more burst damage on occasion right away, or going for those stat boosts....

I'm kinda wondering if his Hidden Power's power, effects, and type are static, or if they vary per use.  The appearance of it probably won't change much regardless, though.  (Interesting that Iron made it a 2 Power Normal [I think] move for that first use, since Hidden Power can't typically be that type at all in the games [along with Fairy if we're not talking about Uranium])

Considering Focus Energy doesn't stack with items in this campaign, I'd say Swift Swim is the stronger of the two abilities (plus, it gets triggered automatically when underwater).  However, you then have to structure your team around the Rain you're going to summon, while Sniper is a bit more splashable (and having the appropriate item allows you to forego setting up with Focus Energy if you don't need an additional boost) at the expense of reliability, so there's that to consider too.
