Nathan's a pretty practical guy, but he's also pretty nice. Well, as long as he's not angry, that is...made some sense in character for Nathan to sweeten the deal a little imo. And 300 is pretty easy to regain, so no real loss there. Nathan's also ultimately learned more then Sheldon has, so the 300 also balances things out a little.
