The mention of the term 'Delta Pokemon' initially caused Ventus to become deathly serious for a split second, neatly mirroring Nathan's own intial reaction to the news as the only the he new that remotely fit that criteria were those blast, blighted demon dogs. That mood was quickly dispelled, however, as Heart continued to describe the odd beast he'd sighted as something distinctly different, replacing it with a curious excitement similar to when Shiva first informed him of her Comite.
"By Reshirim, the more we traverse the region, the more strange and abnormal Pokémon we seem to gaze upon or stumble over, despite the astronomically low odds of such an a series of encounters! My original purpose in coming to Cheshire was to document the interactions and behaviors between the Pokémon of this region with themselves and humans, as well as examine their culture, but if our group continues to spot and interact with such anomalous creatures, I might have to expand my research studies more than I imagined. Please, continue with your account, for you most certainly peaked my interests!"
As the collector did just that, he soon noticed the young trainer's melancholic temperament, but that was soon replaced by their own burning curiosity and desire to learn more about Delta species, so Ven didn't concern himself any further with that gleam of Insight. The fact that Heart also tried and failed to coax an answer out of them more or less cemented his position of letting Nathan deal with his own problems at their own pace; the empath had been lashed out at one too many times for trying to help the boy open up about their inner conflicts. That, and since he resolved not to overly care about Nathan unless they gave him a good reason too, he didn't have that much of a desire to aid him to begin with. Things may be on the mend between the contrary pair, but that didn't entail automatic forgiveness/helpfulness on either party's part for each transgression for each other....
What quickly followed Heart's recounting of his sightings was an open ended discussion on Delta Pokémon that had almost EVERYONE at the dinner table pitch in their own thoughts or experiences on the topic at hand, which went by at such a blistering speed that the poor researcher couldn't hardly keep up as is, let alone speak up and add his own two cents/opinion. So instead he opted to silently listen to everyone while finishing off his second helping of lasagna, mentally filing away all the information being offered for future analysis, review, and pondering. Oh, and snatch himself a few Magikarp Tayaki and a glass of tea for his own leasurely consumption, of course! Like Nathan, he hadn't had a proper meal since breakfast, so he was going to dine on much fine food the curiosity finder (Heart) prepared until his appetite was fully sated!
By the time the conversation came to an end, though, two things were quite clear to Ventus: (1. Shiva was not apparently all that fond of Delta species despite her own interest in the arcane and magical, and desired nothing more for them and similar ilk to stay were they belonged and far away from her, and (2. Nathan had once again returned to his silent brooding, now even MORE dispirited after everyone had offered their own opinions on Deltas, though this time the sociologist had a pretty reasonable assumption as what caused this sudden spike in negativity....though that didn't necessary mean he sympathized with them. Quite the opposite, as a matter of fact!
'Your plans of presenting Orthros and endearing them towards her and myself seem ever more distant and improbable, don't they? Perhaps, with this revelation from Shiva and our recent conflict still heavy in your mind, you should strongly reconsider the idea to introduce the abominable beast to the group, no matter how well trained or under control you may have gotten it by this point, and simply get rid of it. Its not worth the drama and trauma it will inevitably cause with its reveal, and quite frankly the Houndour is not worth the effort you put in it to begin with,' Ventus coldly thought, again not too sympathetic with the young trainer's plight, though this time it could be argued that he had more justifiable reasons for his anti Delta Houndour stance, given his and his dear's friend encounters with the craven beasts. Call him callous and intolerant, but would you want to be forced to interact with a species that tried to hunt your for either sport, substenance, or both?
Once he had finally polished off the last of Heart's simply divine cooking ('Someone is going to be cooking for the group on a regular basis for now on, if I have any influence to exert on this...'), Shiva had finished hers, and the collector gave one last rousing speech to cap off the entire dinner party with all of them, Ventus slowly rose from his seat at the table and gave them a grateful smile and a bow. "Heart, I thank you for making the best dinner I've had since Corsage, and I and my stomach heartidly appreciate the expense and labor you undertook to craft such a fine courses. If anything, with the strife caused by the unexpected and most definitely unappreciated growth of those vile Vines, a good meal and some interesting conversation is just what is needed. Hope for a better tomorrow, and work towards making it comes true....now that is goal I can stand behind. Thank you, my friend," he said, before turning towards his blessed friend and offered them their hand with a expectant smile on his face.
"With dinner now concluded, shall we now call your parents in Castelia, or do you wish to turn in for the night and sleep off Heart's scrumptious cooking. I'm amenable to either plan, honestly."

Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.
