Ventus' mount takes a step forward, then gently steps back without ever putting weight down on that foot. Ventus drops down and finds a strange musical instrument. It's a delicate little sphere made from woven reeds, almost airtight, but obviously primitive. A coating of shellac covers the ball. A few pieces are loose inside, producing a wide variety of pleasant notes and textures of sound when rattled. You could rattle this for an hour and never hear the same noise twice.

A lumpy piece of paper, like a card, is attached by a fine cord.

Ventus gave his mount an appreciative pat for their keen observation skills, before they begun their investigation of the odd yet delightfully chaotic instrument, a curious smile forming as he shook it and listened to the broad range of unique sounds it produced and examined the tag attached to it. "Hmm.....this clearly is an musical device produced by the native swamp folk that live around here, given its overall all rustic design and make, but I'm at a loss its true function is. That, and it seems this was produced as an Item to be sold or part of an exhibit, judging from the card attached to it, though I can't make either state in confidance given how degraded it is. It is fascinating and fun to listen to regardless, though!" the researcher said to himself, jingling the Spherical Rattle a couple more times for good measure, before hopping back onto his Metagross and awaiting for Lucifer's return.

Thinking of the devil, the little drake swiftly returned to his master's side, swooping down from the air to perch on his shoulders and letting out a tiny unconcerned croon that conveyed nothing was amiss in the Plain to them. It was then that they noticed the strange ball that they were holding, tilting their head at the new Item they found with his own characteristic brand of curiousness, before they faced their master and let out an inquisitive screech? Ven couldn't help but chuckle at such a display, and with one hand held it out the instrument for them to pick up and do their own examination of it, saying to them : "Ah, I see you are quick to notice my latest aquistition, Lucifer! I don't know what it quite is besides a musical instrument of some sort, but its finely made and produces the most wonderful noises, so would you like to play with it for awhile?"

Order: Head back to the central area where the group meets, and give the Rustic Rattle [Name Pending for Evalution] to Lucifer to see what exactly happens/how they react to it. Hopefully they like, but if not its something that Ventus can hang onto and get appraised later for its true uses!
