My aim with a "moderate" challenge is to make the player expend some resources. Potions either before or after the battle, lots of HP, maybe even a Will point if the dice are right. An easy challenge is more likely to only cost a few HP that will heal right back. But it depends on a lot of factors - which Pokemon and how many you send out, dice, strategy.
