[Game] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure: Celadon City Vandel
(12-15-2017, 09:45 PM)Dragonstrike Wrote: '...I appreciate the offer, Angelica, but that'll likely only make the situation worse, particularly since Samael was trying to keep her arrival quiet.  And Clair will probably crush anyone who dares try to intervene.  She's loaded up with everything she can that might help her defeat me at any cost from what I've heard.  Full Restores, Max Revives, various methods to stop my usual battle strategies, a very powerful, ancient relic of Blackthorn's that even Legendaries fear...she means business.'

'Our best bet would probably be to try and catch her off guard instead.  I need to talk to her, and that'll be difficult if I'm staring her down in the middle of a battle, or have to worry about her changing her mind and unleashing her pokemon or that weapon on me at a moment's notice.  Not likely to improve my image in her eyes, but what other choice is there?  And if it does come to battle...I can't fight fairly if I hope to win, which certainly won't improve her mood any...'

'I'll also be talking with Erika tomorrow at the earliest opportunity, so if I have great need to appeal to her for aid, I can.  I've known Clair's been coming for a couple days now, and I've been trying to figure out how best to handle this without causing too much trouble for the festival...'

'......Alright sir. Mmm....I don't like the thought of you facing off against Clair alone, but If my and the Police's assistance would only hinder your efforts against her, or Arceas forbid provoke her to seriously harm you and others, then I'll refrain from interfering in your battle, and try to prevent my officers from getting involved as well. The last thing we need is the Gym Leader and her Dragons rampaging in the middle of the Flower Festival, inflicting untold devestation throughout the city and....and whoever happens to get caught in the crossfire....'

Your rebuttual to her plan of action made Angelica somewhat despondent, as leaving you to suffer relatively unassisted your cousin's draconic wrath rubbed her sense of duty towards you/servitude/desire to keep you safe entirely the wrong way. Of course she understood your reasoning why you denied the help, and even agree with it on some level, but it doesn't change her discomfort at the fact that doing relatively nothing was the best way to improve your odds against your cousin.

The knowledge that you had quick and convenient access to the Prim Princess of Celadon support helped ease this feeling somewhat, but the chief inspector still felt like she was failing you on some level.....

'*Mental Sighing* Still, I wish their was some way I can help, sir.......oh! Hmm.....would that really work......yes, she's know for being quite prideful and arrogant, so maybe......maybe that could work..... Sir, I think I've come up with an idea that could help you settle things peacefully with your cousin! Err....or at least temper her reactions enough so that she doesn't resort to violence in the middle of the Festival? Permission to speak freely about this, sir?'

......Which is why she used that discontent to brainstorm an idea to possibly help you out! Of course, you don't have to hear her out if you have a good enough idea/plan on to how to handle your extremely irate cousin, and/or burden them with more guilt/sadness if you end up rejecting another of their ideas. Nothing venture, nothing gained, yes, but sometimes its just not worth the trip in the first place, you know?

What's it going to be?
