'Umm, well.....Clair's known for being EXTREMELY prideful and egotistical, right? At least, that's what the rumor mills have been saying, and the personal accounts of Celadon City trainer that fought against her seem to align with them....I'm getting off track, sorry about that! Anyway, since she thinks so highly of herself and her abilities, why not use that against her? By using her those qualities against her, you could possibly issue a formal challenge against her with stipulation that limit the worst of what she could do to you, or demand that she hear of you grudge towards the Elders and the reasons behind them in private! '

'For example, you could say, 'On your honor and title as the esteamed Gym Leader of Blackthorn City, I demand a fair fight to settle any greviances between us!' or 'As Gym Leader of Blackthorn, I wish to speak with you in confidence on matters concerning my departure from the city, and the consequences it had for me! ' Either way, that would force her to comply to your requests to preserve her dignity towards her 'lesser', or suffer disgrace and humiliation by appearing unreasonable, overly hostile, and just being unjustifiably rude. Hmm.....you could also have her fight you in a more secluded area to minimize backlash and fallout with the logic that disrupting the Flower Festival with her duties would reflect poorly on her and Blackthorn.'

'That's all I could think up of for now, so what do you think of those ideas, sir?'

'Heh.    Funny.  Not too far from the ideas I've had so far, actually.  I know her better than most, obviously.  Despite how...irritable she can be, she values the traditions and image of Blackthorn very highly.  In theory she should take her duties as a Gym Leader seriously as well.  She isn't just representing Blackthorn now that she's a full fledged Gym Leader.  And I have a few choice topics in mind to discuss with her.  Namely, some of the things I've accomplished lately, and the fact that this isn't the first time the Elders would have made a mistake...'
