'Mew' (not 'Reiner') swears in draconic. Loudly.
Reiner knows who Professor Elm is, obviously, seeing as he's also from Johto. His research on pokemon evolution and breeding was...well...actually, Reiner didn't really know what to make of it. Breeding isn't exactly Reiner's forte, but he does know it can result in some much stronger pokemon than usual, given enough time. Yang is a 'shining' example of that. But that's well known fact, so why would...?
The second part...well, Reiner already had reason enough to go in there...true or not, they were going to find out if someone was toying with life soon enough, it seems...
...and that last part is why 'Mew' doesn't doubt those words...much. There's still some skepticism...'she' hadn't heard much that would suggest the person that destroyed New Bark is headed to Celadon now, for starters...'she' didn't need to break the fourth wall for that. And Petrel and/or Angelica would certainly have heard if New Bark had been devastated and Professor Elm had been robbed...
