You look over the man's shoulders, and see that he has a big white mustache to match his hair.

He has a big wooden trestle in front of him, with deep sides. It's full of wet clay. The man is making those weird noises as he works it: he might say "Squelch!" as he scoops out a small depression, or go "Pop!" as a convexity forms. Half the time he doesn't seem to need to touch his work. The clay just alters itself to suit his sounds.


Heart notices he's not wearing any Pokeballs or a satchel. And there's no food in this cave.

Yeap, it was just as Ventus suspected, from when he first eyed the torches and the way this place seemed charged with the sort of energy that gave him a sense of unease and disquiet: this man was a damn mage. And, judging by his age, his mastery over the clay he's working with , and the fact that by the absence of foodstuffs and other comforts/necessities, he's a Kyurem frosted archmage of great power and experience. If their is anything that rackles the paranoid research more than magic or practitioners of those fell powers, its someone that was exceptionally talented/skilled in the arcane arts. In an instant he was become completely guarded physically and mentally, and thin lip stoic expression was afixated on his face as he took a couple of steps away from the archmage and warily/unhappily regarded them.

'Much as I would like to confront them for practicing such foul and treacherous, take my leave and leave this archmage to petrify in his own clay domicle, or.....otherwise, its doubtless that we need him in some capacity to solve the threat posed by those vines. Loathe as I am to EVER rely on such a vile and wicked thing as an archmage's aid, if it necessary to save Stair City and Cheshire, then so be it,' Ventus though, carefully and closely watching the mage work the clay with his hands and words. For now, he's just going to wait for either the archmage to finish his work or for them to turn their attention to them before speaking, as interrupting a wizard in the middle of his work was a swift way to irritate the Inferno out of them, which had predictable results/fate befalling on the offending party(ies).
