Hmm, me isn't a programmer/coder/whatever either... but to be honest, your ideas with that filters are not that bad.
I don't know how helpful this may be to avoid sniped Pokemon, but you know there is an option in the GTS to search for IDs, do you? Clicking "Search", it's the third option.

Hmmm, actually I think I did know that searching by ID was an option, but... for the purposes of avoiding sniping, searching for an ID isn't the issue -- it would be the ability to set a desired ID in the trade so that only the person with that ID number can accept the trade.  Searching by ID justs keep you from accidentally sniping someone else's trade.
