So I noticed that the latest Christmas Mystery Gift had two Pokemon: Fafurr and Antarki. Both of mine which were infected with Pokerus! Yay! But wait... I don't know what to do with Pokerus. -_-. Since I have never encountered it before in game although I knew what it was. Supposedly it will double EV efforts of your pokemon for a short time (1-4 days.) So I have placed the pokemon in the PC for the time being till I figure something out.
So here is my Fafurr with a virus:
And here is my problem:
This is how my Pokemon were arranged before a battle. Disregard the fainted minicorn. I mistakenly battled it at level 1 haha.
Now supposedly according to Wiki, the normal Pokemon directly adjacent to the infected pokemon in your lineup will contract Pokerus after a battle. I wasn't sure how this was strictly defined, since google's definition of adjacent is 'next to.' So I put a pokemon on all sides of the Infected Fafurr to see which would end up contracting the virus after a battle. And as it turns out, the lucky winner was Minicorn! So naturally I assumed that the pokemon in battle order right after the infected one would be the contract-ee. However, I tested this again with the same pokemon in a different order and got no new infected Pokemon.
huh?
I then got to thinking. My only conclusion is that the pokemon have to be a different gender since the only pokemon in my lineup that is female (Fafurr is male) is Minicorn. And Urayne is a genderless pokemon. Is my thinking correct? Or is this a bug in the Pokerus System? I haven't tested this yet with another female, but just wondered if anyone else had had this problem.
My newly infected Minicorn:
help? thx.
