Unfortunately, he's still in a kinda sour mood in the morning.  He ends up walking past Ventus and Shiva during their breakfast in the lobby and heading directly outside with Forthright, the hood of his jacket up, his fedora in his bag.

It's not very subtle, and Kirlia gives Ventus and Shiva a semi-pleading look, trying to ask for their help, before he runs off to join Nathan in the rain.

It's a little bit of a happier atmosphere, standing there in the rain.  Or 'ruster', as the Stair locals call it, for obvious reasons.

*Flashback!*

Ventus was in the middle of eating his heavily spiced oatmeal when he saw/felt Nathan gloomily bustle right past their table, and out the front doors, looking to the world like a broody misery guts; the empath could practically see storm clouds hovering above them. With a heavy sigh and a shake of his head, he put aside his breakfast and quickly followed after the boy, a light frown on his face as he did so. 'By Rehsirim flames, what has put the boy in such a wretch mood this time? .....Well, its best I go after him and try to ameliate those feelings, or otherwise his negativity might threaten to consume him and Kirlia. Or worse, attract more misery to them......'

He was quick to arrive outside and saw that the young trainer was interacting with his Castform ('Forthright, was it now?') , which gave him the subtle but bright idea to summon Ao Guang to greet him this morning (Essentially that post) . No doubt Nathan would notice and be curious/intrigued by his newest brother, and it was a well known fact to the sociologist the boy was FAR more comfortable around Pokémon than his fellow man, save perhaps his mother.....
