"...I don't think he can beyond choosing what he targets in the first place. There's no telling what information the move might reveal, and he's also been getting a lot better at aiming it recently (it has an accuracy pool of 9 D6 cuurently). That's a...rather large risk you'd be taking, acting as a guinea pig...it's not super strong, but that Hard Stone he's holding helps make up for that..."

"...it probably involves the sothern wind in some form. Suicune's probably depicted as well. I'd like to know what that text is specifically referencing if at all possible..."

"...you've read Brandon's book too, eh? Dot to Dot: A Journey Across Hoenn. Quite an interesting account, really...from seas to forests to deserts...he and Cynthia are practically archaeological heroes for everything they've contributed to the field...we wouldn't know so much about the past of the pokemon world without them, and they're still learning new things every day..."

"...I think he's capable of something like that for two reasons. One: we're still digging up all sorts of weird items that do things that shouldn't be possible. Sarimanok used a lot of stuff like that during the war. Two: As I've stated previously, the Lake Trio is known to have helped him in creating some 'great works'...but nobody's seen them, so we don't know what they are. Mesprit, Azelf, and Uxie could probably tell us more..."

"...*sigh*...I still want to help Mesprit, even if it doesn't need to help us...I'd be happy if Kirlia were to be a little more open, but I can't ask him to do that...I'm trying to be as good an example as I can be, but...maybe the Neverstone was the answer, since it was likely the only reasonable way to potentially do it in such a short time...it still feels a little bit like cheating to me, though..."
Nathan's moreso quietly thinking to himself now, but it's definitely out loud.
Assuming Ventus has nothing more to say, that's probably the end of that encounter.

Later, Nathan speds some time with Forthright in her first training session, helping her to really adjust to her new, watery form. Not one she'll be taking often for a long time yet, but the practice should help her with adjusting to her other forms later.
Kirlia's meditating, as usual. Meanwhile, Grid's practically crackling with electricity in this wet environment. The various shallow puddles he steps in become charged, and he's enjoying practicing his electrical skills and semi-recycling the electricity in the process.
Training for Kirlia, Grid, and Forthright for encounter #2 of the day!
