In the Lobby:

"Hmm..... drizzly weather doesn't overly bother me, and its an fine opportunity to make sure both yours and Nathan's Pokémon get a taste of precipitation, so I'm fine with this plan of action. Excellent idea, my dear!"

After voicing this, Ventus then just quietly observes his fae fancy of his heart kindly yet carefully interact with the young metamorphic Pokémon, trying to ingraciate herself to them while also trying to minimize potential problem of being a 'stranger' to the child. Seeing/feeling this warmed the empath's  and gave it a painful tinge , as he well aware of Shiva's loving/nurturing qualities, and how he too could be the recipient of them if he wasn't so....so afraid.  Another thought came to him that thankfully dispelled such gloominess: how were Magnemite Egg doing? It has been quite some time since he checked on its prognosis, since he's been busy with Shelter work /Training + Battling / Crisis etc. , so it would be remiss of him not to inquire about it at some point! Perhaps during lunch?

In any case, when his dearest friend voiced her readiness to leave, he only nodded his head and gave her a cheerful smile, before they were off to the Shelter! During this time/transit, he quickly explain his proposal to Shiva: A 2V1 Battle against his Kingdra, with Cottenee and Maril being his challengers. No healing Items/moves, no SE moves, and having Marill do her best to not freeze Kingdra with Ice Beam (Is it possible for a Pokémon to avoid procing that if it tries to?). When asked why, the researcher said more or less 'I want to test out the strength of my sealord against opponents he couldn't just destroy with Dragon/Water STABs, and what better and worthy opponents than your Fairy Pokémon dear?'

At the Shelter!:

After the both of them arrived and Shiva brought up the topic of Dr. Hyperiac (Which caused him to involuntarily frown for a split second), Ventus approach the Director with his own inquiry with a happy smile and a friendly gleamed in his eyes! "Its good to see you are doing well, sir! As promised, I have gotten in contact with Dr. Mallorn and informed him of the odd Beautifly the Shelter possessed. I managed to arrange a hopefully reasonable deal between you two, and he said he would be calling you soon about the details, but I decided to inform you of this just in case he hasn't reached out to you yet! Hopefully he'll be able to render monetary aid swiftly, as the Shelter would certainly appreciate having a bigger budget to work with!"

When he was finished speaking with North, he followed quickly after Shiva to where Charmeleon was at, as he didn't want to leave her unattended for too long; not with that man potentially lurking around. In stark contrast to what one might expect, Ventus just didn't immediately begin socializing/handling/earning the irate fire lizard's respect, but rather decided to play a mostly supporting role to Shiva's own efforts, carefully observing by her side. While he was more than qualified and experienced to solo this task with minimal hassle, the veteran researcher was extremely curious and interested to see what her proffeciency she has in this field as a Breeder, and it provides her valuable experience for her to learn how to manage Disobedient/Scary Pokémon. Of course if things go sour/become difficult, he wouldn't hesitate to step in to render aid/pacify Charmeleon!

Already he was both visibly impressed and pleased by her Insightfulness in dampening the soon to be fire breathing dragon's flames, as combined with their protective gear should greatly hamper any possible attempts on their part to roast them alive! 'So far, so good on her part. Now, let's see what first interaction with Charmeleon will be, and how it will affect things moving forward.....'
