I'm not sure it's necessary to hold off the Day just for the Almanac purchase, since that won't affect anyone's Day 48 decisions. Heart and Nathan have been done with their days for a while.
Generally I want to only pause to let really important things catch up, especially things that might affect the decisions of others.
