Evening of Day 47

As Nathan is napping when Venttus knocks on the door to Nathan's room, Kirlia's the one who opens the door and greets Ventus.

Forthright immediately bursts out of her apricorn and heads over to Nathan to snuggle. Between her and Orthros (who Nathan is hugging in his sleep, and which Ventus can clearly see. It's also one of those rare moments where Orthros is sleeping too), he's got plenty of reason to be sleeping peacefully.

Kirlia motions to stay quiet, takes Starmie's pokeball from Ventus as well as the Blue Fitted Apricorn, and then gives Ventus a quiet, thankful nod.

And if Ventus has nothing to say to Kirlia or anything 'urgent' to ask of Nathan while there's an opportunity, that probably concludes this little interaction.

Flashback: Evening of Day 47

Upon giving Kirlia both of Nathan's Pokémon back, Ventus gaze is drawn towards were Nathan sleeps when their own child goes flying over to sleep with them......and then witnesses the sight of the boy slumbering with Orthros in his embrace.

The researcher's eyes widened, and he takes a half step back at seeing.....feeling such....such peace and comfort emanating from the strange and unlikely duo. Despite being asleep and in extreme proximity to that nightmarish abomination of a dog, the boy wasn't in any discomfort or in the throws of some horrid dream; in fact, the exact opposite effect to be taking place. What....what in Reshirim's name was he seeing?!

'This....is this reality? Nathan and that....beast, so closely connect to one another, bonded tightly.....yet nothing foul or insidious is occurring.....? That....that shouldn't be possible, not with that thing , but......my senses are not deceiving. How.........why? Why? Why.......?'

Numbly staring at Nathan + Orthros, another vision comes to him unannounced: his own sister, happily and blissfully snoozing away with her own pet Lillipup in her arms, totally unaware of her brother checking in on her for the night........ A vision which Kirlia, if he was paying attention at the time, could see/share if he choose to.

Ventus visibly flitches badly as this vision/comparison, and Kirlia in that instance saw several things flint across the empath's face, thing most rare for the individual in question: Fear , Unease, Uncertainty, Anxiety, Hurt, Sadness, Sorrow, Pain, Understanding. The young psychic doesn't get to see much more, though, for the researcher started to swiftly backpeddle out of their master's room, before practically bolts away to their own, as if something was chasing after him.

Perhaps there was.
