That'd make my Marill a powerhouse which would almost be too strong o.o She can lift heavy things that delicate Shiva never could, which is rather useful on it's own even if it's mechanically pointless in battle.
Well, the ability could still buff strength in theory. Double would be a bit too much for this kind of game, though. Even +1 or 2 Strength in the base game would be good (since Special is the Sp. Attack and Strength is Attack). Powerful? Yes. OP? Not when things like Download, Adaptability, Rivalry, Defiant, and Competitive exist already!
However, maybe another reason they 'nerfed' it was so it wasn't just another amazing attack boosting ability. I could see variety being a reason why the change was made.
