At this particular moment in time, Nathan had actually been trying to keep Charmeleon and Swiftifres' little competition reasonable.
He does give Shiva a brief, slightly tired (still spent 2 Will on that battle with Dagny, after all), yet somehow sorta frantic wave.
Yup, he was going to have to work with Charmeleon on keeping his temper manageable, it seems...
