Ventus catches Nathan up on the thread of their conversation and what Dagny said about Genesect. She sits quietly.

"I think it might be time you explained to us what you found in those binders, friend! What say you?"

"Ah."

Well, finally time to pull out the journal and flip to those notes that Nathan took weeks ago...

A History of Modification: Cold Storage/Twist Mountain - Pokemon Black/White/Black 2/White 2

"So...Genesect...they started by detailing the history of Genesect in this region...Team Plasma's attempt at making their own wasn't the first time the world's seen a mechanical bug.  There were...four recorded instances of it existing in Creshire previously.  The first is obviously its original, prehistoric form.  The second was...the first one ever resurrected, by a group known as the First Technical Society...third was...Sarimanok's.  I'll get to that in a moment, Ventus.  And the fourth was...resurrected by a group called Scavengers, who were trying to imitate Sarimanok's bugs.  They didn't quite manage to do it, obviously, but they did successfully make one that was more suited for defense rather than offense."

"...so...Sarimanok's Genesect...he didn't make just one.  He made four.  The first one resurrected and modified by the FTS was really primitive.  Had a spear launcher of sorts instead of the cannons that they usually get, wheels, and Drive like items that were based off of Arceus's Plates.  Sarimanok's were...different.  They all had cannons, but he modified them all in such clever and unique ways that each one was almost like a completely different species.  Not alone though, obviously.  His alchemists did most of the heavy lifting in reviving and modifying them, and I'm...not 100% certain on it, but the Lake Trio might have had a hand in it as well, since we don't actually know what they actually helped him with creating...but creating Genesect, or some kind of golem that would help him in the future...if the Lake Trio didn't help him directly with those, they might have given him enough knowledge to do those kinds of things on his own...I'm getting off topic, though..."

"...Sarimanok's Genesect were some of his most powerful soldiers during the war a few hundred years ago.  The League had to focus ALL of their attention and call upon the aid of several Legendaries to even stand a chance of fighting them off.  They were a walking, hovering, four pokemon army by themselves...even alone, they were fearsome...together, they were nigh unstoppable..."

"...that's what the Scimitars and anyone who's done their reading on Genesect knows about them today.  The Scimitars suspect there's more information on how Sarimanok created his small army of steel bugs in a library of some kind...I wasn't sure which library they might be referring to, since it certainly wasn't Wineberry's or Telperion's since even this general knowledge on Genesect is rather unknown among most of Creshire's populace...but then I heard about that secret library underneath Mt. Sentry, then they came after Shiva looking for something they think might be a key even though it's a longshot and might be completely unrelated based on what little is known of Relic Stones today..."

"...they're desperate though.  They want to get in that library.  And use what knowledge they find in there for their own benefit..."

"...they want to create their own Genesect.  Make it stronger than even Sarimanok's by figuring out how to repel the Legendaries that had stopped them hundreds of years ago..."

"...as for how they even know of Genesect in the first place...well, they kinda stole Team Plasma's plans for resurrecting and reconstructing one.  Concluded the species has a predisposition for modification.  Made replica drives to serve as keys or whatever to improve their base in Wineberry.  Yeah, they're hiding out there, Dagny...they built that statue of Genesect three years ago to conceal the construction of their underground hideout.  And soon after they finished, the replica Drives they'd also made to function with the statue...mysteriously vanished.  Well, not the orange one.  Wineberry got to keep that one because it was purely for show.  The Burn Drive Replica is a key to their base.  They also want to make REAL Drives for Genesect...but they need more gold to do so, apparently."

"...Ventus, I'm sorry...I...don't actually know if Silverfish is in the region or not...reading that...it threw all certainty out the window...I'm sorry for unnecessarily raising your hopes and/or resurrecting old fears...but...I still stand by what I said...if there's any way I can help...I will..."

"...we need to find that library before they do...we...can't allow them to perpetuate this cycle any more than it already has been..."
