Before The Legend of the Yin Yang Duo

"She rarely ever speaks on those topics with good reason.  She's more than happy to speak of her passions, though, which happens to also include battles.  At least, from what I know of her...it's not really my place to say any more than that, as much as I'd like to..."

"...those Togepi eggs of hers are special.  She only very rarely hands them out, and she has a keen eye for anyone deserving of one, seeing as the receiving of her own Togepi was what turned her life around...she wouldn't have a Lucario and a Roserade today if she hadn't gotten that egg...just her signature Garchomp, a Spiritomb, and some of her other pokemon less reliant on a bond with their trainer..."

"...I...kinda look up to Cynthia.  Ever since I learned about who she is...I don't know...a lot of her values and such...they just...clicked, I guess.  And you might also be able to say her passion for myths and legends sparked my own curiosity in the field..."

Nathan is rather surprised at the offer to let him join a conversation with Cynthia.  CYNTHIA!

He's got a calm, small smile on the outside, but his eyes have practically lit up and there's a beaming smile on the inside.  "...that'd be...wonderful.  I'll...do my my best to stay respectful and polite and...I should probably just stop talking,  shouldn't I?  Sorry...force of habit..."

Nathan gets a lot more quiet and thoughtful at Ventus's request to hear more about the Yin and Yang pokemon.

"...let me pull out my notes real quick.  I'd be happy to tell you more."

Nathan flips through his journal...pausing for a second on two sequential pages in particular, which clearly depict two incredibly detailed, full page, neatly colored illustrations of Cynthia.  One in her warmer, black coat, her Garchomp by her side, and the other in her more relaxed Summer garb that she dons when in Unova (her outfit from the Best Wishes arc of the anime), her Togekiss overhead.  

There are also a lot of loose papers between the nearby pages.  A LOT of loose pages.  For how organized Nathan's journal is, this looks kinda chaotic.

'Looks up to her' is very likely to be a MASSIVE understatement...

...then Nathan continues flipping the pages.

"...there they are.  My notes on the Yin and Yang pokemon...let me just refresh my memory real quick...the details can be difficult to memorize..."

(If Ventus wants to react to Nathan's stuff concerning Cynthia, he's free to do so before Nathan starts on the blacks and whites.  I need to type that in a separate post due to character limits on the 3DS browser...blegh...)

".....I never begrudged her for keeping her affairs personal for the most part, since I know perfectly well the desire to keep one's secrets closely locked. The fact of the matter, though, is that such things like our personal lives were simply irrelevant between us. We're good friends, and that is it. You are quite right about her being passionate about her interests, and her sharing them with others, however! Several times she recounted a few of her more memorable matches to me, and more often than not badgered me into discussing my own research and experience with Pokémon! Good times, good times....."

"Indeed? How interesting......though now this makes me even more perplexed as to what she saw within me of being worthy of such a precious gift. Hmm.....one day, maybe I can find Raphael a fitting mate to propogate their species, and continue this tradition of handing out Eggs to those rare, exemplary individuals..."

"Given the lavishing praise and extensive knowledge base you display for her, I don't find that to be that shocking of a revelation. Finding out that she may have been the catalyst for your interests in the archeological and historical is, however, so I suppose that balance it out. To think she's had that much sway and influence to affect change several regions over, but at the same time I find it all to fitting now that I ponder this.....strange."

Ventus is almost equally taken aback by the sheer blinding joy that practicing erupted from Nathan at his seemingly innocuous and casual offer, a not so faintly baffled and somewhat cautioning expression temporarily affixing itself to him. "......Alright then. Just.....don't put her on a pedistool, if at all possible. At her core, Cynthia is a normal person like you or I, and deserves to be treat as such and not an idol, unless she says otherwise."

He also managed to catch a few glimpses of the boy's journal and those finely drawn pictures of his friend, and had to resist the urge not to boggle and shake his head in bewilderment. More and more, he finds himself ever so slightly concerned and confused at the reverence he hold for her, but so long as its not a constant overbearing aspect of him and a problem, he could accept it for the most part. Didn't stop it from being all so weird to him, though!

Soon, the empath was able to banish such thoughts from his mind, and patiently waited for the young scholar to finish his review over the Yin and Yang Pokémon, and sate his own curiousity over them by reciting the information on them.....

"...*phew*...that one's always particularly tiring, to be honest...the creation of the universe and related topics are...rather weighty...it's VERY fascinating, though...Cynthia actually wrote a whole paper on it and how Arceus relates to it, among other things...which is...rather impressive..."

"That's......quite a expanse legend. From Creation, their origin of equal, opposing, constrasting, and complimentery Duality, to Shakespearian esqe Romance and Incarnation.......it weaves them altogether to form an amazingly rich and enticing narrative that I can't help but ponder over its meanings, nuaced or not. A fine tale indeed, one that I'm slightly shocked to hear that most beyond Tandor has never known, or has long since forgotten. A shame, but I'm glad that I had the good fortune of learning of them, and gaining a new perspective on how our nebulous universe became. Thank you for sharing this with me, Nathan."
