Her first team, against Nathan, was supposed to have the best chance - it was like her test lineup to see how strong your party is.
I set her party up (eight Pokemon in addition to her fleets) before you guys even picked your starters, then chose from her party some Pokemon that seemed a fair fight. That's to represent that she picks particular Pokemon to test you well, but she doesn't hold back on her dice pools or strategy.
Steel type doesn't have a whole lot of synergistic strategies like the Grass type does, and that's not really her style anyway, so I didn't do a ton of work on optimizing move combos (as evidenced by forgetting Probopass' extra fortitude in Sandstorm.)
