Nathan's happy for Shiva, he just has a lot on his mind, as per usual. He's keeping it to himself during the 'celebration' though. Unless someone decided to ask him about it maybe. Which I don't think anyone is going to do.
Nathan's not exactly very outgoing, so his lack of participation and visible cheering shouldn't be all that surprising. He prefers hanging in the background if he's not front and center on the stage. He's fine with letting his pokemon participate and such as they wish, though. Charmeleon and Starmie are the indication that he's not fully seperate from the scene.
