Kirlia pirouettes over to the Neverstone. Then pauses, goes back to Nathan. Gives him a loooooong hug and stares into his eyes for a moment. He nods firmly: Next time, it will be him and Nathan's happy thought together that creates a Kirlia again.

With a leap, Kirlia has touched the Neverstone. The entire room seems to grow brighter, including Nathan, with Kirlia being the only exception. Kirlia fades and fades, playing tricks on your eyes. You rub them, and see a Ralts standing there, smiling cutely. That brightness hasn't left the room - a lot of energy pulses in the spot where the Neverstone sat (it's gone, of course) and in the walls of the room, which continue to shed brightness.

Ralts runs up and holds Nathan's hand like he used to. Nathan has to prompt him again to touch the wall.

When he does, there is a sudden cascade of emotion rebounding through the room. Ralts puts his hands up; he's shaking. Nathan and presumably Ralts are buffeted by successive waves of emotions, each as different from the last as possible.

The Unown are made manifest once more, glowing like the rest of the room. They rearrange themselves into new Elder words:






Nathan gets just the smallest glimpse of Mesprit, a tiny smile on its face, before it vanishes. The purple light fades. The Unown fade back to their own dimension. The purple boulder guarding this cavern even fades, leaving a hole and a blank, empty cave, aside from the decorative carvings.

Ralts runs up to Nathan, that old innocent joy returned to him, as if to say "Did you see that??!?"

Calam has gone to the top of Vapor Falls, to look out over the Great River for some alone time.
