Valder expressed reluctance with his gem, but you can reasonably assume it is a match to Shiva's hexagonal half-gem - I don't think you know positively that he has one, since he only thought about his internally.

Touching those gems, Nathan definitely can feel a little of the same feeling that looking at Calam gives him, especially when he first met Calam.
