Furret considers this a good deal. She reaches out and takes Forthright, but then she looks unsure about what to do.

"Glad you think it's a good idea.  For now, I think it's time we get some rest.  It's been a long day, and eggs and most newborns need a lot of attention.  Forthright in particular needs some cuddling since she's been cooped up in the PC all day.  She likes cuddles.  A lot.  I'll give ya a run down of what else I generally do tomorrow morning, alright?"

"...oh, one more question before we go to sleep.  Would you mind if I borrow your egg again for a minute?  I won't take it anywhere, I'd just like to scan it with my pokedex and see if it knows what the contents might be and how long it thinks it might take to hatch.  It'll help me with planning how to help you care for it, and you'll get it back right afterwards, I promise."

Furret was actually handing over the Egg as soon as you tell her more about Forthright. Your question falls on deaf ears as she cuddles and grooms the little cloud.
