The emotion is more of the kind of emotion you see when an old person finally finds someone to listen to their story. 

Emolga shakes his head. He runs into the tree and comes out with a bundle of fluff, with pine needles stuck to it. He cuddles the fluff, showing how comfortable his home is.

"Oh, I see.  Just happy to have some company.  Gotcha.  Heh.  I feel ya.  Yeah, it's nice to have someone who actually listens for once...and I feel ya on not wanting to leave home, too...I want to head back home sometimes myself..."

More thoughtful snacking.
