There's a lot of 'dex entries in SM/USM that are vastly different from their prior ones in the series.  Helps with increasing the variety of their lore.  Quite a few of them expand on predator and prey, too.  Here's another fun fact courtesy of gen 7: Luvdisc like to sleep in the space between a Corsola's branches Wink

Might partially depend on how the pokemon are individually raised.

Check out Sun's entry for Mega Sharpedo!  I'd say it might support that!

The spines sprouting from its head are transformed fangs. If they're injured or broken off, the spines will regenerate countless times.
