Ralts continues to STARE at Malphena, his arms crossed, still kinda unamused.  For someone so small and frail, he certainly doesn't act like it, that's for sure.  It's almost like he's older than he looks...kinda.

He listens...looks at Nathan...looks back at Malphena...STARES.

"...I completely forgot...so much has happened...it just...flew right over my head..."

"...I need to go pick up something at the Center real quick.  I'll be right back after I do.  Should only take a few minutes.  Ralts, Furret, let's get goin' to the Center."

Off to the Center Nathan goes to see what the surprise is!  He'll be right back after he's withdrawn the items in question.

Pokemon of similar kind can talk to each other in a very basic "language", but since Ralts is the Emotion Pokemon he can understand quite well what Malphena is trying to get across. Interestingly, Pokemon understand Common far better than they understand another Pokemon of a different species!


There are three things in Nathan's PC. Two are Mail. There's a card from Mom, which is quite similar to the one he gets every year - usually ranching puns. (Spiritmon, maybe you can think of one for me.)

The other is from Uncle Oscar. It says "Happy 15th!" in red ink, which your mom has tried to subtly correct with a big red marker. Inside the card is a print of a Keni Morgusi card! A Skarmory, darting down through trees, carving them to mulch as it dives! The move on the card is "Fly", 9 damage (out of a possible 10). This is a rare card design, but of course it's not worth anything as a mere print. 

In your PC you also find 5 BIG slices of chocolate Gateau! (each is a Full Heal outside of battle). All together they spell out "Happy Birthday Nathan!!" with a blue Rapidash. Its horn is a big candle, and each hoof is a smaller candle.
