The crying stop mid breath, with roughly the same abruptness as a needle skipping off a vinyl record.

Dead silence greeted you for several minutes....

.....before one long, low, and mournful keening noise radiated throughout the room, the sense of lose and pain so vivid and raw that it nearly freeze your heart and make you break down, but manage to resist it and maintain control of yourself....

.....However, you could already begin to feel the Dead Calm you've been feeling since Evening erode away at the heartbreaking sorrow that was fully unleashed by Kyubi's outburst, her latent Psychic powers and the suffering she's experience no longer being restrained, blocked, or hidden from your empathy; in fact, it seemed to only magnify as time went on. Your unnatural serenity would completely crumble underneath the weight of the fox's distraught feelings at this rate, and you would most likely be soon joining her in mourning voluntarily or not if something wasn't done quickly.

Emphasis on quickly.

Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock.....

Reiner struggles to say the next part.

"...Kyubi...calm down...a little...please...I...understand...I...lost...someone today...too...I think...we could...both...use a little...*oof*...comfort...I...need to vent a little...too..."

Maybe trying to get Kyubi to focus on a more immediate issue will help.  Reiner's not exactly given Kyubi a lot of detail, but it should be just enough to tell her Reiner isn't doing okay either.  And he's had to sit right next to her on the bed since he's feeling a little dizzy from the intensity of Kyubi's emotions.  He's audibly taking deep breathes, trying to stay calm.

He won't cry.

Not for Clair.

Not when the emotions aren't his own.

...he needs comfort just as much as Kyubi does, really.  The question is: will Kyubi calm down enough to focus a little on Reiner's problem a little?  Reiner's gonna be in a bad way if she doesn't...the best thing she can do to help him is to calm down a little and partially focus on his problem instead of putting all her attention into her own...
