Wait, did I need to put Patrat in my part everytime I use it? And make alterations all the time? Its a lot of work just to make alterations.

I personally use copy and paste to do that.  Saves a lot of time. (I don't copy paste the current HP portion, though. If I did, I'd mess up the formatting something fierce, so it's the only cell you need to manually make changes to)

And yes, you have to do that if you want to swap out pokemon between your party and Bill's PC.  It makes it easier to keep track of who you actually have on hand currently without having to dig through the game thread to find it.

It's more important for longer trips down routes and into the wilderness, but it's still very important to do it before getting into any kind of battle, period.
