Iron, I got a couple of questions for you:

1. Is it possible for Malphena and Lucifer to buff themselves in advance of facing the Stone Guardians 2.0 ? Its said they are sleeping, so maybe that would be the opening necessary....?
2. If the first proves true, could Raphael come out and bless each of them with After You for the upcoming brawl? They did that once with Michael as he started his first Encounter in the running, but I'm not sure if that applies in this situation/anymore.

Generally, you need to be on the battlefield where you'll be using the buff. So you need to be close, usually close enough that it could potentially wake the Pokemon. If you succeed on an Ambush check (with bonuses if they're asleep), that is the way to use buffs ahead of time. 

If Raphael applies his blessing you'd hit the three Pokemon limit and need an Insight check to keep your orders straight. Could be worth it. However, you'd only be able to get one After You in during the Ambush round.

Ah, thought so! Still, better to ask than not to and charge blindly ahead, right? Guess Lucifer and Malphena will just approach them regularly then, as I have no points in Stealth to help that roll out, its not a sure thing they are asleep for that bonus, and I'm not risking the Ambush failing and THEY getting the chance to counter attack.

However, with an Insight of 5, having Raphael join in on the battle would be feasible actually, so long as nothing gets balls up too much. Ah well, more targets means they have to pick and choose who gets nailed, so even if orders gets screwed up at some point its still worthwhile to try out a triple trial.

Another question I have is if Ven can still command his Pokémon despite their being such a gapping distance between him and the site of action?
