Such a celebratory mood didn't last for long, sadly, as before too long Shiva and Nathan came barreling back into camp with varying degree of scared and dispodant feelings between them and Swiftfire looking roughed up from something that tangled with them. Already this inspired a suitable level of surprise and alarm in the researcher, but when his most blessed girlfriend came barreling into and gave him what would have been a back breaking and terrified hug if it were not for his immense Vitality and frantically explained the situation.....well, his worries became all to severe. A fairly calm/neutral frown took over his expression that wonderfully concealed the seething fury of such repugnant actions from a twisted Fairy type, as he returned her hug and did his best to wordlessly sooth her all he could as she speak by rubbing her back and softly murmuring the Fireflies song to them.

Ventus seems to very well know how he can calm his love effectively and soothe her mind and nerves, and Shiva could not help but to pull him a little closer to herself before she eventually let go of him as well, but she didn't do so before she hasn't gifted him a somwhat sweet smile and eye contact for only a few moments, but this and the emotional response he'd likely receive was enough to make clear what she was silently trying to tell him: How glad she is to see him again. The thought of being buried alive there in the tunnel without ever having told him how much she cares for him... What a scary thought.

Another Encounter slot goes by as Durant and Durant tunnel through the soft coal. You unearth a lot of the colorful rocks and a few tiny tiny quartz crystals. Azumarill is happy to cart these off and offer the crystals to Shiva.

Aww!~ Very thankfully Shiva accepts these quartz crystals from her cutesy blue fae mouse rabbit, and packs them away into a pastel green cloth bag where she was already storing the former bigger white quartz crystal. What a nice small collection of these, and a beautiful reminder of this quest! <3 Maybe once the group has made it through Mount Sentry and reached the surface again she can find a good use for the crystals - crafting something out of them, offer them as a gift to wild Pokemon she'd like to befriend, or simply keeping them for herself - these white quartz crystals have a natural healing power, and she's well aware of it!

Azumarill stays out with her for now, and so does Furret. Due to letting her gaze wander over the current surrounding - 'huh, still in that coal seem!' - in both hidden fear and excitement, she lacks a bit behind the group, keeping her cell with the flashlight firmly in her hand. Somehow, she couldn't help but to wonder what more stuff lies around here... "Hey, Furret, dear one.... Listen, can you keep your Keen Eyes open and let me know if you find something here that looks off? Or, practically anything that looks interesting, please. Dizzy... I'm trusting in your danger sense, so please warn me of anything you pick up."

Nathan's scared.  Scared of what might happen to Carbink and its friends.  He's afraid they'll hurt themselves for no reason...or that the Scimitars will finish them off if they don't do the job themselves with Self-Destruct/Explosion.  Or that Ventus might seek retribution for Carbink almost braining Shiva...it's not safe for them in the immediate future, no matter how he looks at it...

At some point during the tunnel-digging, Shiva looks behind to carefully check in on Nathan. She very well knows that he was somewhat not okay from how the encounter with these stony Pokemon turned out, and this was confirmed to her as she rested her gaze on him for a little with a neutral look herself... Naturally she was picking up the scare among other things from him, as before he already proofed to be 'easy to read' for Shiva. With these honed senses, it felt like it was even more easy now. How weird...?

Mentally, she sighed heavily. Then, a moment later, she averted her gaze from the boy and concentrated on the Pokemon digging the tunnel again... Though something in her adult mind told her that sooner or later, she'd have to talk to Nathan again and play therapist to soothe his nerves. Fine, she'll do so if being asked or if she gets the feeling that his state does impair the group in some way... She stopped counting how often she already did a similar thing for him.
