Nathan has ONE thing on Valder: better versatility.  He's not going to be a complete Glass Cannon forever.

Well, now that you mention it, that means I'm going to have to start supplying Valder with more Pokémon in the future then! Have to make sure Ven's investment in them always pays out, you know!
