Nincada is not hostile. After observing it for a time, Ventus posits the cold underground tunnels have caused Nincada to go dormant since last summer, delaying its evolution. If warmed up with a few battles and some mild heat, Nincada would probably evolve!

Upon gaining its permission, Ventus carefully moved closers to inspect the Nincade, his analytical gaze sweeping over its gelid form as he pondered what exactly could have caused its state/early evolution, before the answer came to him in short order as all the details and signs fell in place. A semi-startled look crossed his face when he had the realization, before a smile took over as he regarded the insect with a friendly air , temporarily dispelling his angry gloomy attitude!

"Oh, so the tunnel's frigid's temperatures put you into prolonged hibernation, and only now have you managed to awaken and begin your Evolution, but it appears the frost is stilling delaying it. Well, I would be more than happy to assist you in Evolving by letting you spar with my Breloom, and/or lend one of my fluffy sweators to elevate your body temperature! If doing such would be a hinderance or bother to you, though, then I won't impose on you any longer my friend. What do you say, Nincada?" the researcher said, motioning towards his fungal brother with one hand (who puff out their chest in a proud display of their own opinon on their might, orah!) and patting his satchel with the other invitingly with another. He'd never had the chance to witness the evolution of a Nincada personally before, and he genuinely wanted to help the poor fellow out from the plight mother nature put him in, so why not kill two Pidgies with one stone and make such offers to it?
