So, just for fun, I decided to calculate the odds of landing attacks (assuming Lucky Chant is in effect and no other effects are. Dealing with all those negative successes makes the calculations a pain when you start getting large dice pools)
Odds of rolling at least 1 success on X D6
1 D6: 50.00%
2 D6: 75.00% (these first two are really easy to do from memory)
3 D6: 87.50%
4 D6: 93.75%
5 D6: 96.88% (about a 3.13% chance of critting if you were wondering)
6 D6: 98.44%
7 D6: 99.22%
8 D6: 99.61%
...and so on. This also happens to be equivalent to the odds of rolling at least 1 success in the damage pool (again, assuming Lucky Chant is in effect and the move didn't crit). Though I suppose another way to put it would be the odds of missing/doing no damage with the dice under the same conditions...and that's easy enough to calculate.
Odds of rolling 0 successes on X D6
1 D6: 50.00%
2 D6: 25.00%
3 D6: 12.50%
4 D6: 6.25%
5 D6: 3.13% (yes, this number should look familiar. The odds of gettnig 5 Tails on a coin flip is the same as getting 5 Heads, after all)
6 D6: 1.56%
7 D6: 0.78%
8 D6: 0.39%
...and so on. So yeah. Short end of it is that 4+ dice is what can probably be considered a 'safe' amount, since everything there has less than a 10% chance of missing. Once you hit 7+, that's less than a 1% chance of missing, which is cool.
