My problem with it, though, is the fact that it leaves Heart incapacitated with grief/trauma, which in the end causes the same problem if he had just dragged those Nuzleaf to be slaughtered by Ven/Shiva: its going to cause delays, as the party can't and won't move on without him and finding out just what the hecky happened to them.
If this breakdown happened sometime after the next set of Encounters occurred, or sometime during it, then it wouldn't interrupt the next set of Encounters, and Heart could still choose a third one if he wanted without sacrificing his or the group's time.
That, or he has his breakdown but recovers in time to re-join the party as they all continue on their journey, and during the next set of Encounters he skips them to cope with the stress of his PTSD flashback.
......My suggestions might seem callous, and I REALLY don't want to come across as insensitive towards your character's plight, but I also don't want this to cause a grief spiral that just ends up ruining everyone's moral for the next few days in game AND out of game. If Heart can deal with his trauma without forcing them on the others.....well, it wouldn't be ideal or nice for him, but we could all choose a time and place to have that breakdown/therapy session in much better/less critical circumstance. We ARE in the middle of a quest in dangerous territory, after all, so being incapacitated/mired in a mental breakdown is not the sorta thing your character needs to deal with right now.....

If I would permit my opinion on this topic, Nathan is the last person Heart would like to see. Remember, they both dont like very much each other, and Nathan way in judge others...would not help very much in the situation. Perhaps Ventus or Shiva would help more in this case. Also, Nathan have some serious problem in harsh judge others, and 0% in experience in been sensitive. Nope. Bad idea.
Again, I would rather not have Ventus or the group tied up with helping a character recover from a mental breakdown if at all possible, but if it must happen then I'd actually want Nathan to handle things with Shiva, as while he's......opinated at times, he surprisingly good at helping other characters through their own problems. Its just a trait that doesn't come up often due to the fact that more often than not inter party conflict seems to stem from whatever he did at a given moment, or at least that is how it looks to me.
Ventus trying to help them........well, they'd be able to do so, but it would require a long and protracted therapy session between the two that would involve divulging both their Backstories of DOOM! in order to get the proper context and make the proper sympathetic/empathetic bonds necessary to get it done right. Which would take a long time OOC, and probably Encounter's worth of time IC too on the short estimate, and most likely leave everyone vulnerable in some capacity. That, and Ven's still dealing with his own big ol ball of HATRED towards the Scims that he's trying to tightly manage/repress/control, so he's not exactly in the right condition to provide much help either.
Overall, he can help, but not very well in the given circumstances/environment.
