Now that'd be scary and definitely not what's intended, but I guess Shiva is smart enough to take care of herself and not overdo it with her fascination after it trapped her down in the Nightmareland of the Delta Houndour. So far though, neither she nor me outta-chara see any hints that there's something dangerous about the Fern, in the case of the Houndour there were hints.
