The bugs completely ignore the food. They don't even think about it, not for a second. They all come attacking, but there's only time for the adults to hit Tropius and Azumarill (Pokemon are usually a LITTLE slower before battle has truly joined, but they can certainly attack while the trainer entreats them, as Ventus found out with Scyther!)

The blue bug eats the half-eaten Nanab berry and kinda wraps its legs around Tropius' neck! Yum yum!

Not going to apply vortex damage yet as it's not a full round for a slower Poke like Firoke.
