First reason I think is semi-believable (only semi because of the whole Fly thing, obviously). The second one, though...atm, the only member of the group that would know about the Genesect Fossil thing IC is maybe Ventus since Nathan figured he might be interested in the topic.
Though you can rest assured that Nathan is definitely informing the whole group about this. It just hasn't happened yet, technically.
