It doesn't look very magical. It seems more of a "Do you REALLY want to open this book??" kind of lock.

Well, since the book is important to Valder for some reason and Ven trusts them enough that opening it is not automatically a bad/adverse idea, I guess Ven can just have Turiel nibble the lock of the book if the key can't be found (Which is what Ven will be doing if Slaking can't find the key for them and he can't find the key himself). However, that's only if Valder/Nylon actually want to open and use the book themselves rather than just possess it, as otherwise my character is perfectly fine with the tome STAYING intact and untouched.

I've actually been quite curious as to WHAT reason/purpose Valder/Nylon want the Cro cro in the first place, but if they want to keep that to themselves like they have been doing that is fine with me too.
