It's fine if watching the Ceremony takes some time, I'm not aiming for another battle today or anything that requires to be done at a specified time.

And awwww, so the new PC DID arrive today, that's cool to hear! Typing on a new and fresh one feels so.... pure, I know that feel. I hope that everything works on the new one! Did anything bad or in particular happen to the old one that it got fried, or was it just a matter of 'too old and too used?'? o.o

Just a piece of crap, I think! Hard drive failure should never happen to a three year old computer, but it did!

My new computer is my first solid state hard drive so maybe that won't happen.

Ick, that is just shoddy making on the manufactor's part, me thinks. Kinda what's happening to MY new computer right now, as its slowly but surely breaking down on me, as one hinged has broken off. That sorta shit should not be tolerable, but it is sadly....

My hopes for that fate NOT befalling your new computer is yours, mate!

Hinges are a really common point of failure on a laptop. Sucks that apparently we haven't invented durable hinges yet?

So, if all that messed up was the hard drive wouldn't it have been more convenient to get a new hard drive and fix the old laptop?   meh, whatever, congrats on the new laptop.   I've been through the whole "replacing a laptop" scenario before...

A new hard drive costs more than the laptop is worth. I think my Acer was the flimsiest laptop I ever owned. The one that just died was a Dell - they have a decent reputation so I was surprised. Now I have a Lenovo.
